New Year, New You & New Drinks with Winter Sweetz!

1. Winter Sweetz Paloma Cocktail

Winter Sweetz Paloma Cocktail is a refreshing and easy-to-make drink; no bartending experience needed. The Winter Sweetz Paloma is an enticing cocktail that combines a traditional margarita with a salty dog cocktail and makes it a new experience by adding Texas Rio Red grapefruit. 

Prep time: 5 minutes

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

• 2 ounces of white tequila of your choice
• 2 ounces of  freshly-squeezed Texas Rio Red grapefruit juice
• ½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
• ½ ounce of simple syrup 
• Coarse salt and sweet red grapefruit wedge for the garnish

Instructions:

1. Cut a slit in the middle of a Texas Rio Red grapefruit wedge, then slide the grapefruit around the rim of a glass. Dip the rim into a plate of salt.
2. Mix the tequila, sweet red grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup in the glass. 
3. Fill the glass with ice and garnish with a wedge of Winter Sweetz Texas Rio Red grapefruit. 

2. Winter Sweetz Derby

This bourbon beverage was inspired by the classic Brown Derby Cocktail. This luscious drink uses Texas Rio Red grapefruit to complement the smooth, sweet notes in bourbon. This nostalgic drink is classy and easy to make.

Ingredients:

• 3 ounces of your choice of bourbon whiskey 
• 1 ½ ounce of freshly squeezed Texas Rio Red grapefruit juice
• ¾ ounce of honey
• Texas Rio Red grapefruit wedge for the garnish 

Instructions: 

1. Use a cocktail shaker full of ice to add all the ingredients and shake until it’s cold. 
2. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with Texas Rio Red grapefruit wedge.

3. Texas Rio Red Grapefruit Greyhound

This cocktail is tart, refreshing, and light, making it a perfect drink for brunch. It is also simple to craft while entertaining guests at home. 

Prep time: 5 minutes

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ ounce of gin
• 3 ounces of fresh squeeze Texas Rio Red grapefruit juice
• 1 teaspoon of simple syrup or ½ teaspoon of sugar

Instructions:

1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
2. Combine the gin, sweetener, and Texas Rio Red grapefruit juice in a shaker full of ice and shake until it is cold. 
3. Strain into the highball glass and garnish with Texas Rio Red Grapefruit

You can turn this cocktail into a Salty Dog by adding salt to the rim of the glass.
